Filming - 4/12/12

Today we filmed some different sections to our music video. I filmed Jessica playing different chords on the keyboard, we thought it would be best to use her as she plays it as an instrument, so the miming didn't look false or put on. However we made sure the shots didn't include her face so it wouldn't confuse people in the rest of the video. This section of filming we plan to edit with a black and white/monotone effect.

I also thought it would be a good idea to film Jessica writing out the music and lyrics to the song. We tried a few different angles with this and also tried to be very creative with the zooming in and out. I also filmed her drawing a simple heart on a piece of card, as I thought this could be a good ending for the video, although we may use it elsewhere.

We also filmed with the 'text cards' we had created before hand. We laid them out on the floor and tried various shots of them. Filming from different angles, filming individually and also filming with a pan shot so that the cards went in sequence to the lyrics of the song. 

After the filming session, we took pictures of all the props that we had used. We also came up with a new and creative idea for the video which we are going to try out very soon, but could be something that will take alot of thought and time to complete!

Filming - 3/12/12

Today we started to film for our music video, for the very first time!

Today we filmed an inspired idea that we had , filming me holding up 'text cards' as the lyrics were sung on the song and chucking them away as they had been sung. We had already created these text cards, just with clear simple writing of the lyrics on them, we used fairly neutral colored cards. We tried this idea a fair few times, also trying it at different angles, with ideas like close ups , etc.

We then decided to film me miming playing the guitar. In our song there is a clear change of instrument in the song, and that marks the songs change in pace etc, from slow and emotional to upbeat and syncopated. So we though it'd be a good idea to use both these instruments in a shot even if it was only for a few seconds. We again tried different angles with these, it was a hard task for me personally as I'm no guitar player so without knowing what to actually play I had to improvise, so we did have to do a few takes of this miming.

Icy weather conditions- need to check for weather updates as well as wear appropriate shoes and clothing, and to check transport times 
Dance Studio- wary of visible wires, suitable footwear, be conscious of surroundings e.g. mirror
At house- wary of pets and any simple accidents e.g. water spills, make sure that the equipment set-up properly, aware of surroundings
